Tell the Natural Resources Committee:
No New Nuclear Facilities in California
On Monday, April 10, the California Assembly Committee on Natural Resources will hold a hearing on AB 65. This is a bill that would overturn California’s longstanding ban on building new nuclear facilities until there is a permanent solution to the storage of high level radioactive waste. (1976, California’s Nuclear Safeguards Act)
There is currently no solution for safe and just waste storage. Nevertheless, AB 65 seeks an exemption to California’s nuclear ban, allowing the construction of small modular nuclear reactors throughout the State.
